Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: linux-generic
This is an oldish Dell Latitude. Feisty alternate install CD's would
not work (failed when mounting CD drive), but Edgy and DSL work OK.
Installed Edgy and upgraded to Feisty, but CD drive still not
recognised.
System frequenly freezes (especially in X), and sometimes comes back and
sometimes doesn't but the last thing in the log always seems to be the
IDE problems.
Sample log follows:-
