I took a look at the modinfo overlap in dapper.
This is for cpqarray:
The corresponding line for sym53c8xx:
Would it be reasonable to remove this modalias from the sym53c8xx, so
that cpqarray would take the device instead? Or is it possible to just
remove the two subvendor/subdevice entries?
** Also affects: linux-source-2.6.15 (Ubuntu)
** Changed in: linux-source-2.6.15 (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided => Medium
Assignee: (unassigned) => Ubuntu Kernel Team
Target: None => ubuntu-6.06.2
** Summary changed:
- 7.04 Server install fails on Compaq Proliant DL360
+ Compaq Proliant DL360: raid controller should use cpqarray, not sym53c8xx
Compaq Proliant DL360: raid controller should use cpqarray, not sym53c8xx
