I think I read somewhere that speedstep-centrino is now deprecated with the kernel version 2.6.20. acpi_cpufreq now replaces speedstep-centrino -- speedstep-centrino.ko: missing kernel module in kernel 2.6.20-5.7 https://launchpad.net/bugs/82242
