I think this is a common fault if you have any usb storage/bluetooth device attached to your machine. I had a similar issue with 6.06 since then I remove the devices when ever I am doing an install. -- Fiesty Herd 2 Live CD will not load on AMD64 system https://launchpad.net/bugs/79344
