Public bug reported:

Create a custom kernel, do an apt-get upgrade which recreates the initramfs. A backup of the old initrd is created.
Remove the linux image then. Now the backup is not removed.

** Affects: linux-meta (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Low
         Status: Unconfirmed
