On my FujitsuSiemens AmiloPro 3505 with Ubuntu  feisty (beta)
2.6.20-14-generic #2 SMP it works:

dmesg:
[ 1929.532000] mmcblk0: mmc0:cdef SD01G 994304KiB 
[ 1929.532000]  mmcblk0: p1

root at Borlox:~# mount /dev/mmcblk0p1 ./ex -v
mount: you didn't specify a filesystem type for /dev/mmcblk0p1
       I will try type vfat
/dev/mmcblk0p1 on /root/ex type vfat (rw)

Can read and write, only the automount doesn't work yet...
