[Bug 62614] Kernel panic when hotsyncing palm.

Public bug reported:

When I try to hotsync my Samsung SPH-i500 to my Fujitsu P2120 laptop
using a USB connection I usually get a kernel panic. This setup worked
under Hoary, broke in Dapper (see Bug #39518), and still seems to be a
problem in Edgy.

The frequency of crashes seems to have gone down in Edgy, but I still
see them, here's a portion of the kern.log after the most recent crash:
