Hello,
thanks for helping.

I just tried with Edgy Knot 3 and it is still identically the same
problem. I am also not quite sure if the importance should be at low;
this bug prevents me from booting the install cd, and prevents me from
having any sound on my linux desktop. Since I believe that the Intel
ICH5 sound card is quite common, this bug is a showstopper for me.
