Clemens, jk:

Using 20" iMac G5 RevC with Edgy Knot 2 alternate install

After installing in text mode I found the same problem as you on my iMac
G5 RevC when I booted up. Updating the xorg.conf fixed the problem. I'm
currently using a configuration based on the one available at
http://bersace03.free.fr/pub/Linux/iMac%20G5/. I think that one's for a
17" (and also note the locale is french) but if you want you can
download my modified version for 20" and US keyboard (attached).

To be able to modify the xorg I had to boot off of the alternate-install
disk in rescue mode and start up a shell in my edgy root partition. You
can then wget the xorg.conf from my server.

In time I'll probably try to determine the differences between the
config that ships with edgy and the version I'm using now to see what
needs to change in the shipped config to make it work.
