Hello,

I am experiencing the same issue. I have been running the intial release
of Kubuntu 6.06 from June until recently. Two days ago I decided to try
another distro, was unhappy, and have come back to Kubuntu. I downloaded
the most recent ISO and installed it. I now have the same symptons as
Vijay.

When booted into the stock 386 kernel, my Intel 3945 works fine on my
Dell Inspiron 9400 (Canadian version of the E1705). However, after
upgrading to the 2.6.15.26-686 kernel, my wireless is no longer
detected.

I do have the linux-smp-686 (or perhaps linux-686-smp) package
installed.
