[Bug 66494] system freezes when entering certain code related to ndiswrapper

Public bug reported:

I have a Netgear WG111 adapter, and after I install the correct driver
and enter

sudo modprobe -r islsm_usb
sudo modprobe -r ndiswrapper
sudo modprobe ndiswrapper

the system freezes at "sudo modprobe ndiswrapper." The keyboard or mouse
does not respond.  I have to hit the "reset" button on the case.  So, I
cannot get Internet access.  It worked fine in Dapper Drake and hope it
will work in the final version of Edgy Eft.
