Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: discover-data

Ubuntu incorrectly configures a second sound card on my Sharp PC-AV18
laptop. The laptop uses a VIA soundcard:

00:11.5 Multimedia audio controller: VIA Technologies, Inc.
VT8233/A/8235/8237 AC97 Audio Controller (rev 50)

For some reason the sound controller is listing the via 8235 as well as
a Realtek ALC202 Rev 0 OSS Driver. I'm thinking this is causing a lot
of problems I've been having in Ubuntu. Currently the startup sound
skips and takes about 1/2 hour to play. While it plays the computer is
painfully slow. It takes about 5 minutes to show the desktop once I've
logged in.

** Affects: linux-source-2.6.15 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
