Public bug reported:

When attaching my Apple IPod I get the following errors in /var/log/kern.log:
Oct 2 13:00:52 hacki-mobile kernel: [17340341.100000] usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 10

Oct 2 13:00:54 hacki-mobile kernel: [17340342.740000] usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 13
Oct  2 13:00:54 hacki-mobile kernel: [17340343.148000] usb 2-1: device not accepting address 13, error -71

The problem can be solved this way:
$ sudo su -
$ echo Y > /sys/module/usbcore/parameters/old_scheme_first

Here is a related bug for redhat:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=145273

It was easy for me to fix the problem, but for the average user Joe,
this would probably cause major headaches.

** Affects: linux-source-2.6.15 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
