[Bug 70507] Xubuntu installer does not detect 3com 3c509 ISA ethernet card

Public bug reported:

Attached is dmesg from the live CD for Xubuntu Dapper release. It does
not detect the ethernet card which is an old 3COM 3c509 ISA. Damn Small
Linux (DSL) worked out of the box with a 2.4 kernel, see the second
attachment.
