Christian, excellent. I am not sure if that drm warning is serious or
not, maybe someone else can tell if they have seen it on a working card?
But it would be interesting if you can try to block the drm module to
see if it is responsable for the freeze. Try blacklisting it or do it
the tough way by deleting/moving the module from
/lib/modules/*/kernel/drivers/char/drm/ Also try disabling the loading
of dri and glx in xorg.conf.
