[Bug 47577] Linux-686 Initramfs Problem

Public bug reported:

I am unable to boot into linux 2.6.15-23-686 but I am able to boot into
2.6.15-23-386.  This was working correctly under Breezy.  I thought this
had something to do with hyperthreading but after reading bug #31135, it
sounds like more of an initramfs problem.

I have tried reinstalling libc6, linux-kernel-2.6.15-23-686, and
initramfs-tools.

I have also tried 'update-initramfs -u' after reinstallation.

I can't find any information about the problem boot in the logs but I
may not be looking in the right places.
