Same problem here, screen blanks after 'Will now halt' but no actual
shutdown with 2.6.15. I've been running Dapper for a while, and have
been running updates on a regular basis. Whatever kernel that was used
before (2.6.14?) did not have this problem.

Running on a Sony Vaio PCG-FXA32 laptop.
