[Bug 47010] ReiserFS mount is dog-slow on Promise FastTrack 376 RAID

Public bug reported:

System setup: 2x 300Gb SATA disks, Athlon XP 2000+, Asus A7V8X with
2xSATA ports on FastTrack 376 RAID controller. I have these both set up
individually as RAID 0 (not striped in combination) as this was the only
way to plug in a SATA disk to this m/b.

Result: Mounting a 300Gb disk takes ~17 seconds. Mounting both disks at
startup takes so long that usplash times out unless mountall.sh is
modified.

Expected result: mounting disks is not time for a coffee break.
