There is a (semi) way around this. It is possible to install dapper by
dist-upgrading an existing breezy system using the dapper repositories.

Once you have installed Dapper, the boot process is *very* slow feeling.
You still (appear to)hang at the ramdisk line, but after 'foo' amount of
time (say, the length of a normal boot in breezy), GDM will launch, and
the system is useable again. Then you could install new kernels via
synaptic, and save some cdrs from being used to test the daily builds.

In response to mungewell's patch that he found; my iMac has 1GB of
memory that is equaly spread (I think) over two Dimms.
