Nope, seeing as how Dapper RC just got put out I don't think this is
getting fixed on this release.  I'd use BSD in the meantime but I don't
think it supports my wireless card.  At some point I'll try a Live CD
that uses the 2.4 kernel and see if that has similar difficulties.

seems to indicate that this failure is a recent kernel thing.

I haven't found much about this in other distro forums.

In the meantime, its WinXP for me. :(
