Public bug reported:
When using the linux bridging (provided by the bridge.ko mode of the
linux kernel) to brigde two ethernet interfaces, one gets a bunch of
duplicate packets, at least on ping replies.
Here is a simple way of re-producing this bug: Create a bridge between
two ethernets (in my case one was a wired-ethernet and the other was a
wireless). From a machine on one of the ethernets, ping a machine on the
other ethernet.
NOTE: I was thinking of reporting this bug directly to the kernel
buzilla as i am sure it's a bug in the bridge.ko module itselt but they
only accept bug reports against the mainline kernel that i am currently
not using. Please report it upstream if appropriate.
Note: the original reporter indicated the bug was in package 'linux-
image-2.6.15-20-686'; however, that package was not published in Ubuntu.
** Affects: linux-source-2.6.15 (Ubuntu)
Severity: Normal
Priority: (none set)
Status: Unconfirmed
