My newbie mistake, sorry, here is the real cat /proc/swaps output.

Filename                                Type            Size    Used
Priority/dev/hda3                               partition       1389612
0       -1

sudo swapon -av
didn't product any output so I did a

sudo swapoff -av
swapoff on /dev/hda3

Then did,

sudo swapon -av
swapon on /dev/hda3
