[Bug 26073] Installation freeze on VIA KT400(A)/600 AMD Duron 1.6GHz - Ubuntu 5.10

Public bug reported:

Various options including compinations of noapic, nolapic and pci=noacpi tried
at boot prompt.  Then, at some point (varies) system seems to freeze with hard
disk light on.  CD-ROM and HDD on same IDE interface.  I have also tried setting
all BIOS options to default.  System already has up to date MS Windows 2000
Professional installed and this works fine.
