[Bug 41434] Hang on modprobe during install

Public bug reported:

Dist: Dapper Beta install CD
Machine: Dell Precision M60
Description:

The installation process frequently hangs for long periods.  Eventually
it can't get past the partitioner screen.  Switching to another console
'ps aux' shows the latest process as:

/sbin/modprobe -Q pci:v000014E4d00004324sv00001028sd0
