Unfortunately, the problems I evidenced before are still there. I can't
find any error messages in the logs that leads to anywhere. The only
thing I have been able to determine is that if the AC cable is already
attached when I turn on the laptop it apparently never charges: the
battery applet always shows the same level and the hardware light blinks
indefinitely showing that the battery is not charging; however, if I
turn on the laptop and then attach the AC cable it seems that everything
is working fine.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should go about finding this
problem's origin?

Thanks for any help or suggestions.
