Public bug reported:

Suspend was (is) working fine with kernel 2.6.15.22-686. When I choose
suspend, machine beeps, screen flickers a couple of times and the
suspend (moon) indicator lights. Upon opening lid of laptop, machine
beeps, screen flickers, and presents a login screen (from session being
locked. This is what I assume to be expected behavior.

I did an update which included kernel 2.6.15.23.686. When I click
suspend, the screen goes blank (no beep, no flicker) and the suspend
(moon) indicator lights. When I open the lid, the indicator unlights
but there is no beep, no flicker, no desktop. Nothing happens from that
point on. No screen, no desktop, no love.

Problem only seems to occur with kernel 2.6.15.23. Not any previous
kernels

My machine is an IBM G40 laptop.

** Affects: linux-source-2.6.15 (Ubuntu)
       Severity: Normal
       Priority: (none set)
         Status: Unconfirmed
