I tried the 8 May Daily build with the bootflags barrier=off iommu=noforce
Same panic. My system does not have an AGP slot (uses PCIExpress) and has only 1GB memory. so I don't think these flags are relevant, but I tried it anyhow. The i386 live cd works. And I have run both Hoary and Warty with the AMD64 install cd successfully.
