Today I did an apt-get dist-upgrade and I can confirm that this problem doesn't exist anymore. My mouse is now working fine after a hibernation.
I think this bug can be closed again.

P.S. Before the last upgrade the same thing happened to me that Martin
mentions two posts above (2006-05-10).
