Unfortunately, today's updates (no xorg stuff and no ACPI I think) broke
things again. I've tried with KDE and Gnome, thinking it might be a
problem with the battery applets, but neither one works.

I found the following errors in my log file:

ACPI-0517: *** Error: Method parse/execution failed
[\_SB_.PCI0.IDE0.RATA] (Node dffe7ee0), AE_AML_OPERAND_VALUE
ACPI-0517: *** Error: Method parse/execution failed
[\_SB_.PCI0.IDE0.CHN0.DRV0._GTF] (Node dffe7420), AE_AML_OPERAND_VALUE

I really don't understand what's happening here. Anyway, at the moment
the only way I can recharge the battery is by shutting down the computer
or by working in Windows.
