Did you try with the option "pci=nommconf"? Don't know if it will help for you, but I did read a posting by Greg KH that he had enabled mmconfig for some AMDs as of kernel 2.6.14 and that he expected breakages due to that. -- 2.6.15-17-k7 doesn't boot on Athlon 2000+ https://launchpad.net/bugs/34209
