I'm at home now, where I have wireless. So I'm booting without any network
cables plugged in.
Rebooting -22 -> hangs again. Still on the "loading hardware 
drivers" part :-(
Going with -21 (old) -> boots okay and eth0 and eth1 are there.

The only physical difference between that boots was that with -21 the power
cable was plugged in. But this should (and couldn't) make it difference.
