This is fixed in the Ubuntu git tree, destined for the next kernel release. Note that ipw3945 has its own 80211 stack, and that fails to build in this particular release of the kernel. -- ipw3945 depends on versioned ieee80211 symbols and fails to load https://launchpad.net/bugs/43189
