[Bug 32646] system freeze when reading a cd

Description:
When I rip (with gnome) a cd the whole system get very very slow. The x freeze (nothing respond to the mouse). 
I have a laptop with 1,5 Ghz, 1Gb RAM DDR. 
The file have been written to a reiserfs partition. 

I think the problem is that the programs cannot acces the harddisk
because gnome is writing so much. A renice to 10 doesn't help.
