[Bug 37324] acpi breaks MPU-401 UART gameport midi on Asus K7S8X

Description:
Hi.

I'm running Dapper up-to-date on a Asus K7S8X. When I boot up normally,
something goes wrong with the built-in gameport adapter, so that
external midi no longer works. I can "fix" the problem by booting up
with "acpi=off". I've managed to trace the problem back to a
disappearing entry in /proc/asound/cards:

/proc/asound/cards WITHOUT acpi:
0 [SI7012         ]: ICH - SiS SI7012
                     SiS SI7012 with CMI9739 at 0xdc00, irq 10
1 [UART           ]: MPU-401 UART - MPU-401 UART
                     MPU-401 UART at 0x330, irq 5

/proc/asound/cards WITH acpi:
0 [SI7012         ]: ICH - SiS SI7012
                     SiS SI7012 with CMI9739 at 0xdc00, irq 193

When running WITH acpi, if I try to "modprobe snd_mpu401", I get:
FATAL: Error inserting snd_mpu401 (/lib/modules/2.6.15-19-k7/kernel/sound/drivers/mpu401/snd-mpu401.ko): No such device

Apologies if I should have logged this against an alsa package instead -
please feel free to move it if necessary.
