It does not help. After grub's printouts nothing happens not even
'Uncompressing ...' message as I've written before. Again, please note
that ANY other kernels just booted and boot fine without any problem.
Just linux-image-2.6.15-19-686 has problems, it seems. Btw, if it
counts, I've got a setup to have /boot on an PATA disk (seen as first
disk by the BIOS) but have root fs on an SCSI disk. However this have
never had any problem for Ubuntu till now ...

So the problem that I MUST choose linux-image-2.6.15-18-686 to boot at
grub prompt, because the default linux-image-2.6.15-19-686 does not work
as I've written and linux-image-2.6.15-18-686 was the last which worked.

No, I don't want to use LILO :)
