Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/36128
Affects: linux-source-2.6.15 kernel-image-2.6.15-19-386-di (Ubuntu)
Severity: Normal
Priority: (none set)
Status: Unconfirmed
Description:
The latest Dapper kernel doesn't boot my Acer Travelmate 8000.
title Ubuntu, kernel 2.6.15-19-686
As also the ESC menu of GRUB doesn't work, I had to recover by booting
from a livecd and setting the default to "2" in the menu.lst file.
Normal mortal people will simply think their harddisk is broken. This is
untrue, Ubuntu Dapper is broken :-).
This is the kernel that I booted now, and that does work:
title Ubuntu, kernel 2.6.15-18-686
Pressing ESC when GRUB starts doesn't work (blanc screen with a cursor).
Booting stops at the stage where it tries to mount the /dev/Ubuntu/root
LV. That's the second line you see when the graphical bootscreen runs.
Have fun debugging this one.
