Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/35938

Affects: linux-source-2.6.15 linux-image-2.6.15-19-386 (Ubuntu)
       Severity: Normal
       Priority: (none set)
         Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
After the update to Linux-image 2.6.15-17 my ipw2200 card is unable to load the firmware. I have verified that the firmware is located in /lib/firmware/<kernel>
~$ ls /lib/firmware/2.6.15-19-386/ipw*.fw
/lib/firmware/2.6.15-19-386/ipw2100-1.3.fw
/lib/firmware/2.6.15-19-386/ipw2100-1.3-i.fw
/lib/firmware/2.6.15-19-386/ipw2100-1.3-p.fw
/lib/firmware/2.6.15-19-386/ipw2200-bss.fw
/lib/firmware/2.6.15-19-386/ipw2200-ibss.fw
/lib/firmware/2.6.15-19-386/ipw2200-sniffer.fw

The output of dmesg is:
$ dmesg | grep ipw
[4294685.081000] ipw2200: Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200/2915 Network Driver, 1.1.1

This is occuring on a Dell Inspiron 700m Notebook, the problem occurs
even on a fresh load of Dapper from the Daily as of march 21st that
includes 2.6.15-19

I am not sure how useful this is but here is the output from /var/messages/udev
