[Bug 31806] Hangs during boot at init-premount

Description:
I'm not sure what package to choose, so please reassign. Launchpad
doesn't make it easy, and failed when I guessed at "kernel-image".

My laptop (An Acer Travelmate 4101WLMI), using Dapper, hangs during boot when using kernel image 2.6.15-686, 2.6.14-686, and 2.6.13-686. The problem does not occur with 2.6.13-686 or earlier versions. Here is a photo of the screen, when not using the "quiet" option:

I am using noapic, which I usually need to boot Ubuntu on this laptop.
Using pci=noacpi doesn't help.
