Public bug report changed:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/22449

Task: ubuntu linux-source-2.6.15
       Severity: Wishlist => Minor
         Status: Fix Released => Unconfirmed

Comment:
I have the same sis190 network adapter (in an Asus T2-AE1 barebone with K8ST motherboard). The sis190 is indeed supported in the 2.6.15 kernel.

However, Dapper does not detect this network adapter during installation:

---------
Detect network hardware:
"No Ethernet card was detected"

Configure the network:
"No network interfaces were found. The installation system was unable to find a network device.
You may need to load a specific module for your network card, if you have one. For this, go back to the network hardware detection step.
<Go Back>        <Continue>"
----------

If I click Continue the installation continues without problem. After installation I can configure the network with System > Administration > Networking.
