I have the exact same problem as Olafur above using ibook g3 700 and
kernel 2.6.15-18-powerpc

the problem seemed to arize somewhere before the release of dapper
flight4.

on boot pbbuttons is complaining about no /dev/mixer, and on shutdown
"alsactl store" says "

alsactl: save_state:1163: No soundcards found..."

If more info is needed please tell, and I'll try to figure out how to
collect it for you.
