Dont think that the issue is fixed:

Since a few weeks, the NIC driver shows problems again, at least in
Dapper64:

One needs to restart (deactivate NIC/activate NIC) in order to get the
build-in NIC working.

See the attached lspci, lsusb and lsmod output here on my system.
Somehow me thinks that the module is not loaded during boot up sequenze.
