I have a very similar Problem Report at

Im very in hurry to have a working iso of Ubuntu 6.06 Server, I need to
put online a server with this controller in a couple of weeks, but it
needs a lot of customization ( webpages, email server, etc ... ).

I really apreciated that ubuntu put this patch in the stable kernel, and
at http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-server/daily/ appears a regenerated
ISO with the new kernel :-).

I hope this can be fixed soon.
