Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: synaptic
After updating packages through the update manager (I'm not sure if this
should go under synaptic, the update manager, or dpkg), the status box
said that the upgrades were successfully completed and that the system
was up to date, but I noticed in the details area that there was a disk-
full error while installing the new kernel. I hadn't repartition my hard
drive in a long time and still had a 16MB boot partition which had
become full, with only 2MB of the ~6MB initrd image successfully copied.
I've since resized the boot partition, but would it not be a good idea
for synaptic to notice the error and report it to the user, in case he
or she had not spotted it in the details box, so that there wouldn't be
an error next time the computer was restarted? Interestingly enough,
/var/log/dpkg.log doesn't contain a mention of the error.
** Affects: kernel-package (Ubuntu)
Importance: Untriaged
Status: Unconfirmed
