[Bug 50034] Burning dvds fail / succeeds with errors

but it seems that one was already decided incorrect. Please read this.

Writing dvds worked on Breezy for me and other people
(http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=182415), but after upgrading
to Dapper it stopped. Dvdrecord stopped working, but maybe it's a
different issue - tests with growiso and cdrecord-prodvd.

Now concerning kernel - I have dvds burned on Breezy and they are
readable / mountable. None of dvds burned on Dapper are (those which
were burned succesfully). Tests with cdrecord-prodvd. IDE settings are
the same in all cases. Same box and software versions. Only kernel
versions change:

2.6.15-25-686 (and 2.6.15-23-686): fail with:

2.6.15-25-686 [recovery]:
 - records, but it's not mountable after that

2.6.12-10-686 [recovery] (from breezy):
 - records, dvd ok (also formats dvd+rw with not problem)

Can't run new Xs on 2.6.12-10, so no 'normal' mode tests.

growiso does the same thing. It was tested many times with different
dvds - always the same result. What logs would be useful? What else
should I provide to help resolve this?
