[Bug 49846] touchpad unusable after resuming a compaq evo n1000c

Public bug reported:

the touchpad and little button thing in the keyboard (whatever its
called) dont work after the laptop is resumed from /suspend/. they work
perfectly after hibernation.

the suspend option has been disabled in software on both breezy and dapper, so i only just found this out (playing with settings). 
steps to repeat: 
take dapper laptop
suspend
resume
grin and be glad you can navigate with a keyboard
