I also confirm the problem. motherboard ASUS K8N4-E deluxe nforce 4 socket 754.
i have to pass noapc and noacpi to make nvidia driver, sound and ethernet work...
kernel 2.6.15.23-k7 (k8 tested as well, same problem) so it is with ubuntu 6.06 LTS:!!!
