I isolated this down to 1 of 2 patches 'Reverting reverted acpi patch'
in the 2.6.15-15 -> 2.6.15-16 abi change timeframe, with a 4100 line
diff.  Turning on CONFIG_ACPI_DEBUG masks the issue, so we've done that
for now until we can figure out what part of acpi intel and the kernel
disagree on.
