Public bug reported:

I'm using Dapper final / AMD64 on an ASUS A6Km notebook. The following
error is flooded to the console and the system logs:

Jun 1 03:57:41 localhost kernel: [ 137.888817] APIC error on CPU0: 40(40)
Jun 1 03:57:42 localhost kernel: [ 138.298144] APIC error on CPU0: 40(40)
Jun 1 03:57:42 localhost kernel: [ 138.348924] APIC error on CPU0: 40(40)

I believe this only started to happen with the latest kernel update
(2.6.15-23). Before that the error was only recorded to the logs. Now
the error floods the console, making it pretty much unusable.

I should note that Dapper is working just fine with this notebook and
the APIC error has no other effects. Booting with noapic does get rid of
the error, but that of course disables I/O APIC completely.

I also did a custom kernel compile with 2.6.16.19, so whatever is
causing the APIC error seems to resolved there.
