Has anyone got a solution to this yet?

I too am experiencing a similar error on a Toshiba Tecra A4 with the
nvidia driver.  Unable to use the X environment because it is slow and
dmesg keeps displaying the error: ACPI-0240: *** Error: Cannot release
Mutex [MUT1], not acquired
