[Bug 54382] Thinkpad R51 won't hibernate

Public bug reported:

Choosing the hibernate action will make the laptop blink the hibernate
light for a while, the screen shuts down, and eventually, after some HD
activity (about 30 seconds or so), the machine powers down. Starting it
up again acts as if no hibernation took place.
